Morning Sickness... an evil joke!

I have now had morning sickness for about 6 weeks.

Although it's not exactly morning sickness, it's all day sickness. Sickness that starts when I wake up in the morning and sickness that continues until I fall asleep at night.

The first two weeks, I literally thought I was never going to be able to leave the house again. I felt more sick when I was hungry, but all foods, with the exception of McDonalds, made me feel even worse. So I lived off McDonalds. Dad had to bring me McDonalds on his way home from work, and I even utilised the extremely lazy McDonalds delivery service we have out here in the Middle East, as I couldn't get much further than the kitchen, never mind out to the shop.

The kitchen fridge became my worst enemy. Honestly, our fridge does not smell, not even a little bit, but to me it did. I had to open the fridge, hold my breath and then grab out what I thought I might want to eat. I progressed to philadelphia on toast, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I spent a lot of time sitting on the bathroom floor. I learnt that needing to be sick was a lot less difficult when you have eaten something. So I started taking packets of crisps to bed with me, so I could eat before I got up, which is fun, but not so much when it doesn't stay in your stomach very long.

It's getting a little better now. I still feel sick, and some smells and some discussions leaving me gagging, but I can at least eat a little more variety, although you are still dictating exactly what I eat!

I'm hoping that over the next couple of weeks the sickness will disappear completely and I can feel a little more normal again. I haven't gained any weight the first 11 weeks because I was struggling to eat, so now I need to get some weight on so I can keep you growing in there.

According to Old Wives Tales bad morning sickness means I am having a little girl. Hmmm I'm not sure how accurate that is! I guess they have a 50% chance of being right!

I'll post again after our 12 week scan next week!

First Picture!

We had another scan on the 4th of February, you were measuring 8 weeks and 6 days old, although that might change again, depending on whether you've had a growth spurt or not.

The scan wasn't very clear, but here is the photo anyway, the first photo for the album!
