Second Hospital Appointment and a Heartbeat

We went to your second scan on Saturday, 21 January 2012.

We saw the little sac that you are living in at the moment, and a tiny white beating heart. It's so strange to think your heart is already beating, when you are so small that we can't even see you properly.

You were measuring 6mm so you are a week younger than we though, so you are now due on 14 September 2012. Another week to wait until we meet you, but at least you have more time to grow fully before you are delivered.

We didn't manage to get a picture of you on the scan today, but we're going back in two weeks for a further scan, so we'll try to ask for a picture next time for the blog, we're a bit devoid of pictures at the moment!

The Year of the Dragon

2012 is the Chinese year of the Dragon.

I always like to read astrology, just to see if we match the characteristics of the sign we are supposed to be.

First Hospital Appointment

I had my first hospital appointment yesterday, 8 January 2012.

I was exactly 5 weeks pregnant. There isn't much to report. My blood pressure, height and weight are fine, and although you haven't appeared yet on the ultrasound, because you are the size of a poppyseed, the scan showed that everything is as it should be.

I have to go back for blood tests and for another scan in two weeks so that they can see if you are growing, and whether you have a heart beat yet.

I'm excited to hear your heart beat. I tok another pregnancy test yesterday, just to make sure I really have you. It still seems so surreal that you are coming to us. But there were two dark pink lines, just like there are supposed to be.

It's funny, but we've already kind of decided on a name for you, whether you are a boy or a girl. Although I warn you, it may change when we set eyes on you. I was supposed to be called Sian if I was a girl, but when my mum saw me, she decided I didn't look like a Sian and decided I looked like a Lora instead.

So when you finally get to read this, you may have a completely different name but for now, we have decided on:

Lincoln Ernest Ian if you are a boy and Seren Angela Joyce if you are a girl.

We wanted to honour our parents in your names, so your two middle names are two of your grandparents. We know that your grandparents won't always been around, and so we wanted to make sure they are remembered, and that you always have a connection with them.

Whatever your name will end up being, you already hold a special place in our hearts.

I have to wait 248 days to meet you...

It seems like such a long time, but I'm sure it will fly by. 


This is the day I found out you were coming. Here is the test I took to see if I was pregnant:

Before we found out we were expecting you, I had a couple of psychic readings done to see if we would have to wait a long time to see you. Here they are, I cannot wait to see if any of the things they say come true:

BOY

The first son is connected to a december/jan cusp.. this usually means the end of december or start of jan, so not sure if you can look ahead and see if this would be testing or ovulation time for you?  My readings relate to the current year the reading was given or the year after...

When ti comes to your son, they show him always being direct, at times appearing to be a bit bossy, but its always for a good reason. Hes always about keeping things in order, always wanting things to be organized and really finds it difficult with chaos. I am seeing him being really smart... They show him always approaching things from a more intellectual manner. Always more the type to see things rather than just relying on how he feels. You will find him to often over see something and realize that its not quite right and explain it to people sl that they can better understand. What they show is your son is always very bright, and is often surpassing even some adults expectations on what needs to be done.

 

I am seeing him being nicely built, having a more physical nature and has no problems with working out. They are showing your son as being someone who has amazing endurance. Can run for long periods of time and actually finds that its really nice to do so. Almost like it helps to relax him and make him feel better about the situations that he might be involved in.

 

I am seeing him as someone who is always going to hold his family to the highest regards, and always come to you and your husband for advice. Not one to waste his time and will always make decisions even if difficult.

When it comes to career paths, they show him linked to working in a plumbing type field. (like pipe fitter - trades field)

 

When ti comes to marriage I am seeing him closer to 28. They will have one girl and two boys of their own.

 

IN regards to his labor, they are showing this as a afternoon, early evening delivery. I am seeing you guys going in as "expected" so not sure if this is something that is planned (like an induction). They are also giving me the impression of the number 8, which could relate to the day he is born, or 8 days late. They are not telling me the length of labor. Hes got lots of hair when he is born, and seeing him over the 9lb range. (very long too).

I see a healthy pregnancy, you may feel slightly more tired towards the end so just keep an eye on iron levels, I see then a healthy baby boy born 2012 and see all is well around pregnancy itself, labour and birth, very quick labour, possibly c section because I do see this as very quick!
